2.0.1 Upgrade program related faults

NOTE: If upgrade is ordered, a system restart causes traffic interruption. Select a time that causes the
least customer disturbance.
2.1 Upgrading using a modem with the terminal program
If the maintenance centre is remotely located to the exchange the use of a modem is required to cover
the distance. In this case the application displays the same prompts and screens. The data rate between
CPU-D4 and maintenance PC is up to 9.600 Baud. In case of problems verify that the modem speed is
the same data rate settings of the terminal application.
Error condition correction refer to:
Base information incorrect Verify that you have the link information correct for the software
currently running on the CPU-D4.

Error input parameters are not
within directory information file
Verify that all parameters were correct. Check that the market
version is correct. Check that the upgrade version is correct.

Error condition correction refer to:
Check sum error If the CPU-D4 detects a checksum error e.g. the connection
caused data to be corrupted or missing, re-transmit the output file.
In case of problems verify that the modem speed is the same data
rate settings of the terminal application.

Terminal application does not
start
If a timeout is engaged it takes some 15 minutes before a terminal
can reconnect. Reasons: the session before was aborted or a
wrong file was sent to the CPU-D4 or the modem connection
caused data corruption or the CPU-D4 is performing an upgrade/
backup etc.

Upgrade Flash errors:
ERROR DURING LAST
UPLOAD
The CPU-D4 monitors and verifies the data transfer. Corrupted
data is detected and the upload has to be repeated.

If the data is corrupted re-transmit the output file. Possible causes
e.g. broken link, PBX is restarted during upload etc.
