3.If the password is correct, a screen with value 00 56” will be shown on the screen. Press once, the screen will
jump to “E” level, with “E0 00” shown on the screen.
Parameter E0 means read the current EEPROM setting in outdoor unit.
If E0=0, it means the unit is not reading the current EEPROM setting.
If E0=1, it means “start to read the EEPROM setting from outdoor unit address 2”. (for AW9/11/13 and unit No.2 of AW20)
If E0=2, it means “start to read the EEPROM setting from outdoor unit address 1 (for unit No.1 of AW20 unit only).
Very Important: Before any modification of the EEPROM setting, this procedure must be done successfully. If this
procedure has not been done successfully, before any modification and set EF to “2” (or “1” for dual compressor
system), unit will have “DC fan motor failure” after sometime.
Procedure:
A. Set parameter E0=1, unit starts to read the current EEPROM setting from the outdoor unit. Wait until parameter E0
changes to 3, which means the setting has successfully read from outdoor unit (if it failed to read, E0=5 will be shown. Try
again and if it fails all the time, check the communication cable between indoor and outdoor unit.)
B. After E0=3 is shown, press “” and “” to:
C1. For AW9/13 and unit No.2 of AW20:
Check whether E3=0, if not, change the value of E3 to 0. Confirm the setting by change the setting EF to “1”.
C2. For AW11:
Check whether E1=2, if not, change the value of E1 to 2; check whether E3=0, if not, change the value of E3 to 0.
Confirm the setting by change the setting EF to “1”.
C3. For AW20 (unit No.1 of AW20):
Note: Between modifying the EEPROM setting of unit No.1 and No.2 of AW 20, please repower the unit.
Please repeat the operation by set E0=2, check/change the value of E3=0 also. (If EEPROM setting has successfully read
from the unit No.2 of AW20, E0=4 will be shown; if failed, E0=6 will be shown)
Confirm the setting by change the setting EF to “2”.
Note: Please don’t forget to change the setting of unit No.1 of AW20 according to step “C1”.
Very Important: Before any modification of the EEPROM setting, “read the EEPROM setting” procedure must be done
successfully. If this procedure has not been done successfully, before any modification and set EF to “2” (or “1” for dual
compressor system), unit will have “DC fan motor failure” after sometime.
After parameter setting has been saved by set parameter EF to “1” (or to 2, for unit No.1 of AW20), LED light near relay YL
on indoor PCB will be powered ON, which means EEPROM update work is under proceeding.
After LED light powered ON for around 30 seconds (the LED light is still ON), cut the power to the unit, change DIP2-4
back to OFF, and power again, unit will recover to standard working mode. If possible, before set DIP2-4 back to OFF,
give the power to the unit again with DIP2-4=ON, and repeat the procedure 1 to procedure 3, to read the current
EEPROM setting again to ensure the settings have been saved successfully. And please have a check whether E8=2 and
E9=72 (if not, please set these two to E8=2 and E9=72). If all correct, cut the power and set DIP2-4 back to OFF, the
unit will back to the normal operation mode.
