OPERATION
Procedures before each use
- Place the appliance to horizontal position on a clean, flat surface in a way that the cutting
tool does not touch the ground or any other objects.
- Make sure that all screws and nuts are securely tightened.
- Make sure the cutting tool and cutting tool guard are correctly mounted.
- Whenever possible, clean the work area from all foreign objects such as nails, metal
wires, stones and broken glass that might become tangled in the cutting tool or be
thrown from the appliance at very high speed.
- Fill the fuel tank.
Fuelling
- Never use only mere gasoline in the appliance. Using mere gasoline will cause permanent
engine damage and voids the warranty.
- Always use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and 2-stroke oil. Gasoline / oil mixture ratio is
40:1 (2,5%). Add gasoline and oil to an approved fuel canister and shake the canister well
to ensure thorough mix.
- Always use oil of high-quality and fresh gasoline. The fuel mixture must be used within 3
weeks from mixing.
Starting the engine
1. Place the stop switch in the handle to Start-
position.
2. Turn the choke to OFF-position (the strangler flap
is closed).
3. Press the primer under the carburetor 4-5 times or
until you see fuel in the transparent fuel hose.
4. Grip the brush cutter with your left hand, hold it
firmly against the ground and pull the starter
handle slowly with your right hand until you feel
resistance.
5. Pull the starter handle quickly 4-5 times. Never
pull the starter handle to its whole length; other-
wise, the starting mechanism may be damaged.
6. If the engine does not start, the spark plug may be
wet. In this case, unscrew the spark plug, wipe it
dry and pull the starter handle several times without the spark plug in place in order to
clean and ventilate the combustion chamber.
IMPORTANT: If the engine is warm, set the stop switch in the handle to start position, the
choke to ON position (the strangler flap is open) and pull the starter handle until the engine
starts.
After the engine has started:
- The cutting tool should not rotate when the engine is running at idle.
- Make sure that the rear and front of the appliance is in perfect balance. The cutting tool
must be parallel to the ground and should not require to be supported from the grip.
- Accelerate the engine a few times, without reaching the maximum speed, and check that
the appliance is working properly.
