Function Description:

The Eurolux Square Extractor Fan is designed to provide ventilation by extracting air from a room. It helps to remove stale air, moisture, and odors, contributing to a more comfortable indoor environment. The fan operates by drawing air through its blades and expelling it, with different models offering varying air movement capacities. It is intended for permanent installation, typically in a ceiling or wall, and requires a direct electrical connection.

Usage Features:

• Installation Requirements:
  • Must be installed at least 2.3m above the ground.
  • Requires a minimum of 90cm distance from any hotplate and 50cm clear space above the fan blades to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • The power cord must not make contact with or obstruct the fan blades.
  • Ceiling insulation or frame must not obstruct airflow.
  • If ducting is required, it must be larger than the diameter of the fan blades, and ducting longer than 1 meter will affect performance and void the warranty.
  • Installation involves cutting a hole of the specified cut-out size, connecting power wires (blue/brown to L and N, green/yellow to earth symbol), securing the fan assembly with wood screws, and snapping the grill into place.
  • Precautions must be taken to avoid back-flow of grease from open-fire appliances.
• Safety Guidelines:
  • Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with SANS 10142, and a Certificate of Compliance should be updated.
  • Ensure the voltage indicated on the rating label matches the mains voltage.
  • Do not use the fan outdoors or in wet conditions.
  • Do not insert objects or fingers through the grill bars.
  • The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without adequate supervision.
  • Always unplug the fan when cleaning or moving it.
  • Ensure the fan is on an even, stable surface if not permanently mounted.
  • Tampering with the fan (e.g., using silicon sealers or incorrect cabling) will invalidate the warranty.
  • Do not use a solid speed control if not supplied with the carton.
  • Ensure the power cord connection is safe and reliable.
  • The external flexible cable or cord, if damaged, must be replaced exclusively by the manufacturer, service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid hazards.

Maintenance Features:

• Cleaning:
  • Always turn off the power supply and unplug the fan before cleaning.
  • Do not immerse the fan in water.
  • Use no abrasive products, solvents, or detergents to clean the fan.
  • Ensure the fan does not come into contact with corrosive chemicals.
  • The grill and blades should be cleaned regularly to maintain performance.
• Motor Bearings: The motor bearings are permanently sealed and do not require additional lubrication.
• User Serviceable Parts: Aside from the grill and blades, there are no user-serviceable parts. If repair is required, contact the dealer or Eurolux directly.
