This document describes the JBT03K bike trailer, which can also be configured as a jogger or buggy. It is designed for transporting children and includes various safety and usage features.

Function Description:

The JBT03K is a versatile child carrier that can be used in three main configurations: a bicycle trailer, a jogger, and a buggy. As a bicycle trailer, it attaches to the rear wheel of a bicycle, allowing for the safe transport of children during cycling. In jogger configuration, it features a larger front wheel and outriggers for stability, suitable for running. As a buggy, it uses smaller front wheels for easier maneuverability in walking environments. The trailer is designed with a focus on safety, incorporating a 5-point safety harness system, a parking brake, and a safety pennant for visibility when used as a bicycle trailer. The frame is foldable for storage and transport.

Usage Features:

Assembly of Base Frame: The handlebar is pulled from the folded trailer, and the frame part attached to the handlebar is secured to the main frame using black fastening hooks, which are then locked. The textile cover is secured over the frame with a Velcro fastener.
Folding the Base Frame: The handlebar is set to its lowest position (adjustable by pressing both buttons). The Velcro fastener connecting the textile cover to the frame is opened. Fastening hooks are released by pressing them down. The handlebar-attached frame part is pushed downwards to release it from anchorage and passed under the frame linkage, allowing the frame to fold.
Safety Belt Usage: The 5-point harness system is opened by pressing red and black buttons. The crotch strap hangs down, and shoulder/lap straps are placed aside to comfortably seat the child. The crotch strap is guided upwards between the child's legs, and shoulder straps are placed over the shoulders. Strap ends are inserted into the buckle. Belts are adjustable for height and should be snug but not too tight (a flat hand should fit between straps and body).
Attaching Rear Wheels: Rear wheels are inserted into frame openings until a click is heard, indicating they are fixed and locked. They can be removed by pressing a button in the middle of the wheel. A wheel guard protects the rear wheels from collisions and should always be folded outwards when used as a bicycle trailer.
Parking Brake: Prevents unintentional rolling. Applied by placing a foot on the foot brake and released by lifting the foot. A hand brake lever on the handlebar also activates the parking brake, which can be fixed by pressing a silver button and released by pulling the lever again.
Attaching Drawbar (Bicycle Trailer): The drawbar is inserted into an opening under the front reflector and secured with a clamp, which locks with a loud clack. The drawbar must always be mounted on the left side of the bicycle trailer.
Mounting Axle Coupling (Quick Release): The coupling is mounted on the left side of the tractor wheel. The quick-release lever on the rear wheel is opened (or hexagon socket screw loosened). The axle nut is unscrewed (anticlockwise), and the axle coupling is placed on the quick-release axle (without removing the spring). The axle nut is screwed clockwise with at least five full turns. The rear wheel is aligned, and the quick-release lever is closed or screw tightened. The clamping force is checked by attempting to twist the quick-release.
Mounting Axle Coupling (Solid Axle): The axle nut on the left side of the rear wheel is unscrewed counterclockwise (without removing the lock washer). The axle coupling is placed on the axle. The axle nut is screwed onto the solid axle thread with at least five full turns. The rear wheel is aligned, and the axle nut is tightened to the specified torque.
Coupling Trailer to Bicycle: The safety bar of the cotter pin on the drawbar head is opened, and the cotter pin is removed. The drawbar head is pushed onto the axle coupling on the bicycle. The cotter pin is reinserted and the safety bar closed. A safety strap is passed around the bicycle frame tube and hooked into the holder on the drawbar, ensuring it avoids spokes or disc brakes.
Attaching Safety Pennant: The safety pennant is inserted into a tunnel on the left side of the handlebar to increase visibility. It must always be fitted when used as a bicycle trailer and removed before folding.
Mounting Buggy Wheels: Any drawbar or jogger wheel set must first be removed, and fastening hooks reinserted. The trailer is lifted or tilted backwards. The buggy wheel is inserted into its holder until it engages. To remove, press the button and pull the wheel out.
Mounting Jogger Wheel: Any drawbar or buggy wheels must first be removed. The jogger set (two wheel arms, jogger wheel, catch strap) is assembled. The trailer is lifted or tilted backwards. The two wheel outriggers are inserted, ensuring the gear for regulating the front wheel is downwards and hooks couple with slots. Wheel arms are inserted into holders and fixed with clamps. Track can be adjusted by turning rings on dropouts if the trailer doesn't drive straight.
Assembly of Reflectors: 2 white reflectors are assembled at the front, 2 red at the rear, and 4 orange reflectors are inserted into the spokes of the rear wheels (2 per wheel).
Storing Drawbar: When not needed, the drawbar can be stored in a holder on the left side of the carrier. A hook connected to an elastic circle on the fabric cover can be used to prevent the safety belt from getting caught in the rear wheel.

Maintenance Features:

Regular Checks: Regularly check the trailer and accessories for damage and signs of wear.
Metal Components: Inspect for breaks or cracks. Do not use if damaged.
Fasteners/Catches: Check for bent, defective, missing, or loose parts. Tighten loose fasteners and replace damaged or missing parts.
Fabric: Inspect regularly for tears, worn spots, or other damage.
Cleaning: Clean the child carrier regularly with warm water and a mild soap solution. Avoid aggressive cleaning agents or solvents.
Lubrication: Clean wheel axles and lubricate exposed moving parts with grease or oil. Perform wheel maintenance at least once a year.
Storage: Store the trailer and accessories in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Ensure the child carrier is dry before storage to prevent mold or bacteria formation.
