1.1. Presentation
Welcome in the EVS range of products and thank you for using an EVS XS server. We
will do our best to satisfy your video production needs and we look forward to continuing
working with you.
The EVS XS servers are full digital in PAL (625i), NTSC (525i), 720p, 1080i, and 1080p
standards. These multi-channel, disk-based video servers are specifically designed for
studio applications, to satisfy the needs of near-live and pre-recorded studio productions.
XS servers are available in 5U chassis (2- or 4- channel configurations) or 6U chassis (4-
or 6-channel configurations). They offer flexible configurations in SD/HD or in 3D/1080p.
They support natively a wide range of codecs.
XS servers work with SAS disks: they are equipped with internal SAS disk array and/or
can be connected to a SAS-HDX external SAS disk array.
