• Toensurethelongestbatterylifeandbestbatteryperformance,always
chargethebatterywhenthetemperatureisbetween18-24°C.Donot
chargethebatterypackwhenthetemperatureisbelow0°C,orabove40°C.
Thisisimportant.Failuretoobservethissafetyrulecouldcauseserious
damagetothebatterypack.
• Donotincineratethebatterypackevenifitisseriouslydamagedorcanno
longerholdacharge.Thebatterypackcanexplodeinafire.
• Asmallleakageofliquidfromthebatterypackmayoccurunderextreme
usageortemperature.Thisdoesnotnecessarilyindicateafailureofthe
batterypack.However,iftheoutersealisbrokenandthisleakagecomes
intocontactwithyourskin:
ü Washtheaffectedareaquicklywithsoapandwater.
ü Flushyoureyeswithcleanwaterforaminimumof10minutesand
seekimmediatemedicalattention.
• Neverattempttoopenthebatterypackforanyreason.Iftheplastic
housingofthebatterypackbreaksopenorcracks,immediately
discontinueitsuseanddonotrechargeit.
• Donotstoreorcarryasparebatterypackinapocketortoolboxorany
otherplacewhereitmaycomeintocontactwithmetalobjects.Thebattery
packmaybeshortcircuitedcausingdamagetothebatterypack,burnsor
afire.Ifstoringordisposingthebatterypack,covertheterminalswitha
heavyinsulationtapetoensureshortcircuitcannotoccur.Batteries,when
storedforalongperiodoftime,willdischarge.
• Donotstoreorusethetoolandbatterypackinlocationswherethe
temperaturemayreachorexceed40°Csuchasalongsideshedsormetal
structuresinthesummer.
• Allowthebatterypacktocooldownaftercharging.Donotplaceitinahot
environmentsuchasametalshedoropentrailerleftinthesun.
• Onlychargethebatterywiththechargersupplied.
• Donotplacethebatterynearafireorinaplacewherethetemperatureis
high.
• Donotimmersethetoolinwateroranyotherliquid.Thiscandamagethe
batteryprematurely.
• Whentransportingbatteries,makesuretheircontactsareprotectedand
properlyinsulatedmaterialsthatmaycomeintocontactwiththemand
causeashortcircuit.
• Storetheminacool,dryplace,awayfromdirectsunlightandexcessively
coldorhottemperatures.
• Afterprolongedperiodofdisuseofthebattery,rechargeitbeforeusingit.
Thebatterymustbedisposedofinasecuremanner.
