What to do if my Exmark Lawn Mower engine will not start?
- WWilliam RodriguezAug 13, 2025
If your Exmark Lawn Mower engine won't start, starts hard, or fails to keep running, here are a few things you can check: - Fill the fuel tank. - Open the fuel shutoff valve. - Add oil to the crankcase. - Be sure the throttle control is midway between the “SLOW” and “FAST” positions, and the choke is in the “ON” position for a cold engine or the “OFF” position for a warm engine. - Replace the fuel filter. - Clean or replace the air cleaner element. - Check the seat switch indicator; replace the seat if needed. - Check the electrical connections for good contact. Clean connector terminals thoroughly with electrical contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease and reconnect. - Clean, adjust or replace the spark plug. - Check the spark plug wire connection. - Replace module.
