6 Release the hot-swap prevention latch and verify that the option card has engaged the alignment
pins and connector at the back of the card.
7 At the back of the option card, align and finger-tighten the captive retaining screws to secure the
card in place (Figure 88).

8 Re-install the MSM, following the instructions in “Installing a BlackDiamond 8000 Series Module” on
page 113.
Leave the ESD-preventive wrist strap permanently connected to the switch so that it is always available
when you need to touch ESD-sensitive components.
