KINEMATICS CALIBRATION.
·472·
(REF: 1807)
Requirements for the calibrated ball.
To calibrate the kinematics, a calibrated ball of any size is required (the radius of the ball is
defined by the cycle). The calibrated ball may be set vertically or at 45°.
Results and diagnostics.
Once the calibration is complete, the cycle creates the KinCalReport.mp file with the results
of the calibration, highlighting any possible adjustment or mechanical problems. This file
contains the following list of adjustment errors.
For the “calculated centers” window, the values nx, ny, nz indicate the normal vector for
the rotary axes. The CNC displays the excessively unadjusted values in red, which can
be resolved by defining the kinematics as vector kinematics (if it is defined as standard
kinematics) or by repositioning the table or spindle.
Difference in angles. In the “calculated results” section of the report, the value
“RotationalDesviation” (in degrees) gives an idea of the need to compensate or correct
the rotary axes by means of ballscrew or volumetric compensation.
If the PROBEDELAY calculation is selected when the cycle is defined, the CNC displays
the recommended value. If the CNC calculates a very misadjusted value for that defined
in the machine parameter, it will display a warning with the necessary value. The value
of PROBEDELAY must be defined for all axes.
Report location.
The KinCalReport.mp report is saved in the folder ..\Users\Session\Reports.
Ball calibrated vertically. Ball calibrated at 45°.
