D.1.2.b. Resetting Variable-Speed Transmission
The variable-speed transmission must be reset following
a maintenance/repair which requires the replacement or
demounting of the transmission, transmission
adjustment arm, seed shaft or hopper gears. Not
resetting will lead to failure of transmission to achieve
minimum and maximum spread amounts and deviations
in preset values.
Note: You will need one assistant for resetting.
Resetting is implemented as follows:
1.
Step: Fix the transmission adjustment arm on the 0
(zero) value on the scale.
2.
Step: Loosen 2 pieces of m6 adjusting nuts
fastening the top and bottom parts constituting the
transmission adjustment arm.
3.
Step: Ensure that your assistant regularly rotates the
wheel driving the transmission you are resetting.
4.
Step: Bring the bottom part of the transmission
adjustment arm (the top part will not move since it is
secured in the step 1) to the positions where the seed
gears start or stop moving.
5.
Step: Once the zero point of the transmission is
determined, the top and bottom parts of the
transmission adjustment arm are secured by
tightening the nuts that were loosened in the step 2.
