Usage Features:
- Outdoor Use Only: The appliance is strictly for outdoor use in a well-ventilated area, with at least 25% of the surface area open.
- Ignition System: Features a pilot gas control ignition. To light, turn gas cylinder valve to "on," push and hold the control knob in for 3-5 seconds, then turn anticlockwise to "HIGH." A "snap" from the igniter and a 3"-5" orange flame from the burner lighting tube should be observed. Hold the knob for two seconds after the snap to ensure ignition. Adjacent burners will cross-light when their controls are turned to "HIGH."
- Flame Adjustment: At "High" setting, the burner flame should be 12-20mm long with minimal orange flame. Turn the gas control fully anticlockwise for the minimum setting.
- Lid Operation: The lid must always be open when lighting the BBQ.
- Side Burner Use: For maximum efficiency, adjust the flame from "Maximum" to "Minimum" as needed. Use a proper pan size (20-24cm with a flat bottom) and put a lid on the pan. Turn the knob down to "Reduced rate position" (small flame) once contents start to boil.
- Safety Precautions:
- Always test gas lines for leaks with soapy water after making connections.
- Use oven gloves and sturdy, long-handled BBQ tools.
- Keep a first aid kit and fire extinguishers nearby.
- Keep electrical supply cords and fuel supply hoses away from heated surfaces.
- Do not move the appliance during use.
- Turn off the gas supply at the gas container after use.
- Do not store or use petrol or other flammable fuels/liquids near the appliance.
- Do not operate the BBQ if there is a gas leak.
- Do not disconnect any gas fitting if the BBQ is in use.
- The handle's black area will become hot during use; avoid touching it.
- Gas bottles must be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated area and disconnected when not in use.
- Do not stand with your face directly over the gas grill when lighting it.
- Do not allow wind to blow through the back of the gas grill.
Maintenance Features:
- Regular Maintenance: Recommended every 90 days, with absolute necessity at least once a year, to extend the life of the BBQ.
- Cleaning:
- Burners: Grease drippings should be burned off for 15-20 minutes. Ensure the appliance is cold before continuing.
- Grills: Should be cleaned periodically by soaking and washing in soapy water.
- Interior Surfaces of Grill Housing Cover: Should be washed with hot, soapy water. Use a wire brush, steel wool, or a scouring pad to remove stubborn spots.
- Burner and Venturi Pipe: Periodically check the burner to ensure it is free from insects and spiders, which may clog the gas system. Clean venturi pipes on the burner very carefully.
- Gas Jets and Hose: Clean if obstructions are present, which can cause low flame or flashback.
- Leak Testing:
- Always perform a gas tightness check at the installation site and after every gas tank change.
- Use a soap solution (one part liquid detergent, one part water) applied to fittings. Bubbles indicate leaks.
- Ensure control valves are in the OFF position before turning on the gas supply for testing.
- If a leak is present, immediately turn off the gas supply and tighten fittings. Recheck. If the leak persists, turn off the gas supply.
- DO NOT SMOKE or use an OPEN FLAME during leak testing.
- Gas Bottle Disconnection: Turn off the gas tap (if fitted) and wait for the burner and pilot light to go out. Replace the orange safety cap onto the empty cylinder.
- Storage: If stored outdoors, check for obstructions (insects, etc.) under the front panel, as this can affect combustion or ventilation air flow. Before using after storage, check for gas leaks and burner obstructions.
- Troubleshooting: A troubleshooting guide is provided for common issues such as burners not lighting, faulty ignition, low flame, or difficult-to-turn gas valve knobs. If problems persist, contact customer service.
- Modifications: Any modification of the appliance is dangerous and not permitted.
