FMP30, Excess is calculated according to the infor-
mation in / 20 / and stated as curvature.
Data transfer rate Baud Rate
Difference
Measurement error to the nominal value (= reference value) of the
standard. Parameter in the check result of the instrument function
CAL-Check.
Difference between the arithmetic mean value x
m
from the control
measurement and the nominal value x
r
(= reference value) of the
standard used for measurement.

The data only applies to the open application file for which the check
was performed.
DIP switch
Dual Inline Package = electronic component ready to be installed. In this
case, a series of little switches. They are often used in peripheral devic-
es, i. e., in printers, to change the basic settings of the device.
E value see Test value E
EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory)
Electrically erasable and programmable read only memory. The memo-
ry contents can be erased electrically.
Evaluation
Calculation of statistical parameters, e.g., mean value or standard de-
viation, with graphic output on the connected printer if required. With
the FERITSCOPE
®
FMP30, the evaluation can be started using the keys
BLOCK-RES and FINAL-RES. BLOCK-RES will start the display of the
block result, FINAL-RES that of the final result.
External Start
With external start enabled, the measurement acquisition can be trig-
gered by pressing the key or by sending the G0 (G Zero) from a con-
nected PC.
Excess Curvature
Fe.
Mean value. The arithmetic mean value Fe. is the sum of Fe
i
readings of
a measurement series (a Blocks), divided by the number N of readings.
