ter 6).
With the old Motorola* format, as well as the
Delta** system, it can be run, but no sounds can
be called up.
4. TROUBLESHOOTING
1. The loco will run forwards / backwards as normal
but the lights are off:
This is correct, dictated by the system for DC
operation.
For DCC operation, the Sound decoder has been
pre-set at the factory for 28 speed steps. Probably
the running of the loco has been set to 14 steps.
Simply re-set the equipment to 28 steps, or re-
program the Sound decoder to 14 steps (see CV29
in chapter 5).
2. The loco sound is not clear:
Run the loco in pure DCC- or Motorola*-operation.
3. The loco does not respond to Motorola* com-
mands:
If the decoder is set to handle the long DCC-
address, then you must change the setting to use
the short address (CV29, bit5 = 0).
5. LIST OF THE IMPORTANT CV’s
CV Name Basic
Value
Description
1
Loco
address
accor-
ding
to the
loco
Defines the digital address
for DCC (3) and Motorola*
(78/72/24/60) 1-Byte address
of the loco decoder
2
Start-up
voltage
accor-
ding
to the
loco
This CV sets the motor
voltage of speed level 1, if
not set by CV 29 Bit 4 as in
the motor characteristic
table.
3
Acceleration
inertia
accor-
ding
to the
loco
Inertia values when accele-
rating.
4
Braking
inertia
accor-
ding
to the
loco
Inertia values when braking.
5
Maximum
voltage
accor-
ding
to the
loco
This CV sets the running
voltage of the highest speed
level. Possible maximum is
252. See also CV2.
6
Middle
voltage
accor-
ding
to the
loco
Running voltage setting for
the middle area speed
steps.
By using this CV it is pos-
sible to set a non-linear
control characteristic.
8
Manufac-
turer Identi-
fication
145
NMRA identification number
for producer
Zimo.
By programming this CV
with the value 8 will re-set to
the factory setting. Warning:
the control unit may indicate
an error.
