HOWTOMEASUREVOLTAGESINTHEELECTRONICSSYSTEM
Whenaskedtomeasureavoltage,thevoltagebeingmeasuredisalwaysatonepointwithrespectto(relative
to)thevoltageatanotherpoint.
Example:T omeasurethevoltageatpointAwithrespecttopointB,placeonemeterprobe(typicallyredincolor,
andconnectedtothemeterconnectorlabeled“V“).Placetheothermeterprobe(typicallyblackincolor,and
connectedtothemeterconnectorlabeled“COM“).
Iftheunitsofvoltagearespeciedas“voltsdc”,besureyourmeterissetto“dc”.Iftheunitsofvoltagearespecied
as“voltsac”,besureyourmeterissetto“ac”.
