NSTALLATION

IEEE-488 Address
The IEEE-488 address
can be selected
using the switches
located next
to the IEEE-488
connector
on the rear panel. Talk-only
and listen-only
modes can
also be selected
on this
switch.
NOTE
To meet the
specified radiated emissions,
the IEEE-488
connector
must
he
terminated
with a shielded
IEEE-488 cable,
such as a Fluke
Y8021.

RACK OR BENCH
MOUNTING THE
GENERATOR
Allow at
least 3 inches
of clearance behind
and on each
side of the
Generator to ensure
proper air circulation.
The Generator
may be placed directly
on a work bench
or mounted in
a standard (24-inch
deep)
equipment
rack. Use
the
Fluke Y6001
Rack Mount
Kit for mounting
the Generator
on
an equipment rack. Instructions
for installing the
Generator
with the Rack
Mount Kit are
provided in the
kit. The outside
dimensions of the
Generator are
shown in Figure
2-2.
The
Rack
Mount Kit is composed
of the following
parts:

24-inch Rack Slides,

GENERAL
OPERATING
INFORMATION
The following
paragraphs contain
general information
on the
operation of the Generator.
This
includes
all the information
required
to familiarize the
operator with the
instrument and the
differences
between local and remote
operation.

Familiarization
The Generator
normally operates
on an internal reference
oscillator.
However, if desired, the
Generator
can be operated
on an external reference
by setting the
rear panel REF
INT/ EXT
switch
to EXT and connecting
the external
reference to the
REF IN connector.
