OPENING AND CLOSING THE
TAILGATE
Opening the Tailgate from Outside
Your Vehicle
1. Press the liftgate button to access the
tailgate control button.
2. Press the control button to open the
tailgate.
Note: You may need to unlock the liftgate
first.
Note: Allow the power system to open the
tailgate. Manually pushing or pulling the
tailgate could activate the system’s obstacle
detection feature and stop the power
operation or reverse its direction, replicate a
strut failure, or damage mechanical
components.
Closing the Tailgate from Outside
Your Vehicle
You can close the tailgate by pressing the
control button.
TAILGATE SETTINGS
Tailgate Obstacle Detection
The system stops and a tone sounds when
the tailgate detects an obstacle. Once you
remove the obstacle, you can continue to
operate the tailgate.
Note: To prevent accidental obstacle
detection, let the power tailgate close before
you enter your vehicle.
