lean
mixture

result

back-firing

carburetor,

reason
that
the
gas
burns
slowly

r,
and
is
still
burnin
g
when
the

nlet
va
l
ve
ope
ns
again,
which
causes
the
gas
in
the
intake
to
ignite.
A
rich
mixture
is
shown
by
heavy,
black
exha\jst
smoke
with
a
disagreeable
smell.
