rest forward and back.
The seats in the second row are divided in-
to a single seat and a two-seat bench. The
two backrests can be adjusted independ-
ently of each other.
Adjusting the backrest
1. Apply pressure to the backrest with one
hand and at the same time pull one of
the corresponding loops behind the
seat or at the side of the seat forwards

Adjust the backrest to the required po-
sition with your hand, pressing against
the spring pressure.
3. Release the loop and engage the back-
rest in position by pushing it forwards
and backwards gently.
The backrest is engaged securely if the
red mark Fig. 70 (arrow) on the loop
is not visible

1. If necessary slide the front seats for-
wards.
2. Remove items from the floor area in
front and behind the rear seat.
3. Push the head restraints all the way
down page 47.

forward a little and release the loop.
5. Fold the backrest down further until the
backrest engages securely.

1. Pull one of the loops behind the seat or
at the side of the seat forwards and

1 . Fold the backrest up
a little and relea
se the loop.
2. Fold the backrest further back until the
backrest engages securely.
3. Aer folding back, check that the back-
rest has engaged securely. The backrest
is engaged securely if the red mark
Fig. 70 (arrow) on the loop is not
visible

WARNING
Serious injuries can be caused if a back-
rest is not sec
urely engaged.
·
When folding the rear seat backrest
forward, always make sure that no
adults, children or animals are in its
path.
·
Never fold the rear seat backrest for-
wards or backwards while the vehicle is
in motion.
·
Ensure that each rear seat backrest en-
gages securely, otherwise the seat belts
for the rear seats will not oer maxi-
mum protection. This applies to the
centre seat of the rear bench seat in
particular. If a seat is occupied and the
