Injuries could be caused if the seats are
removed and installed c

The lock indicator shows the seat is se-
curely engaged . The seat is not secure-
ly engaged if at least one of the lock in-
dicators is in the red area. Always check
that both lock indicators are in the
green area when the seat is installed.

Push the head restraint all the way
down Fig. 76 (arrows).

Pull the release lever

3. Guide the backrest down by hand.
Do not transport any pa
ssengers (adults or
children) on the seat with a folded-down
backrest in the third row.
Folding the backrest backwards

Pull the loop

Or: Fold the backrest back by hand
from the vehicle interior.

backrest has engaged securely. The red
marking on the release lever

WARNING
An insecure backrest can cause severe in-
juries.

A red marking on the relea
se lever indi-
cates that the backrest is not engaged.
Always make sure that the red mark is
never visible when the seat backrest is
in the upright position.
