range in close proximity to your vehicle,
such as motorbikes, may not be detected.

Vehicles that change into your lane directly
in front of your vehicle may not be detec-
ted. This also applies to vehicles with bod-
ies or attachments that project beyond the
vehicle.

driver assistance system has additional
functionally related system limits. Please

No or limited sensor visibility to-
war
ds the front
Parts of the sensor system in the front of
the vehicle are not a
vailable or are only
available to a limited extent. The yellow
symbol and a text message are displayed
for a few seconds.
— The sensor areas are dirty or the visibility
of the sensor system is aected by the
weather, e.g. impaired by snow, deter-
gent residue or coatings. Clean the sen-
sor areas at the front of the vehicle and
on the windscreen → page 383.
— The sensor areas are impeded by add-on
parts, number plate holders with trim
frames or stickers. Keep the area around
the sensors clear.
— The sensors are misaligned or damaged,
e.g. as a result of damage to the front of
the vehicle or the windscreen. Check
whether damage is visible.
— Painting work or structural modifications
have been carried out on the front of the
vehicle or the windscreen → page 389.
— Fault or malfunction. Switch o and re-
start the engine.
— If the problem persists, go to a suitably
qualified workshop.
If the sensor visibility is restricted, driv-
er assistance systems may not be
available or may only be available to a limi-
ted extent. Observe the other indicator
lamps for the driver assistance systems
→ page 17.
Depending on the malfunction, addi-
tional information may be displayed in
the vehicle status.
