Adjusting the distance

ontrol is controlling the vehicle (illustration).
You can set the distance in five steps from
very small to very large:
1. Press the
button.

Control always starts at the level that the
respective user had set at the end of the
last trip.
Adjusting the speed
Using the buttons on the multifunction
steering wheel, you can adjust the stored
speed within the specified speed range as
follows:

Press and hold the button to continuously
change the stored speed.
WARNING
Adaptive Cruise Control cannot detect all
driving situa
tions correctly. If you do not
maintain the minimum distance to a vehi-
cle in front or if the dierence in speed be-
tween that vehicle and your own vehicle
is so great that the braking action of the
Adaptive Cruise Control is insucient, you
are in danger of colliding. This can lead to
serious injuries or death.

Always be prepared to brake the vehi-
cle yourself.

Press the accelerator to override Adap-
tive Cruise Control. Adaptive Cruise
Control will not brake automatically in
this case.
·
Observe any country-specific regula-
tions regarding the minimum distance
between vehicles.
·
Maintain a larger gap in wet weather,
snow or poor visibility.
Adjusting the control behaviour

ou can decide how sporty the response of
Adaptive Cruise Control should be:
1. Select the desired gearbox program in
the Assist systems menu of the Info-
tainment system.
