The Auto Hold function secures the ve-
hicle a
gainst rolling away when sta-
tionary, without the vehicle having to
be held by the foot brake.
The vehicle has the Auto Hold function de-
pending on the vehicle equipment.
Prerequisites
✓ Driver door is closed.
✓ The engine is running.
If the selector lever is moved to the posi-
tion, the A
uto Hold function will not switch
on or will switch itself o. As a result, the

If the A
uto Hold function has been switch-
ed on before switching the ignition o, the
function switches on when the ignition is
switched on the next time.
Keeping the vehicle stationary with the
A
uto Hold function
1. Bring the vehicle to a standstill using
the brake with the Auto Hold function
switched on → page 194.
2. Manual gearbox: either keep the clutch
fully depressed or shi to neutral.
3. Release the brake.
The vehicle is being kept stationary by the
Auto Hold function → .

he indicator lamp in the in-
strument cluster lights up
green when the Auto Hold function is
active.
On vehicles with analogue instrument clus-
ter: the green
indicator lamp lights up.

he hold function stops if the vehicle is
driven o or if the prerequisites for the Auto
Hold function are not met.
Switching o the Auto Hold function
1. Press the

he electric parking brake switches on
automatically to stop the vehicle se-
curely. However, the electric parking
brake will not switch on if the brake
pedal is pressed when the Auto Hold

Switching o the Auto Hold function
temporarily using the button

hen manoeuvring, it may be necessary to
turn the Auto Hold function o once tem-
porarily to enable the vehicle to roll more
easily.
1. With the engine switched on, depress
the brake pedal.
2. Press the
button.

he Auto Hold function is switched o.
The Auto Hold function will be reactivated
as soon as the brake pedal is depressed
when the vehicle has come to a standstill.
