Active Park Assist parks inaccurately
aer a wheel change
If Active Park Assist parks inaccurately aer
a wheel change (e.g. vehicle is too far away
or too close to the kerb), it may be neces-
sary for the system to adopt the new wheel
circumferences.
1. Drive a longer distance with the vehicle,
including curves.
Active Park Assist learns the new wheel cir-
cumferences automatically.
Parking sensors
Introduction
The Parking Sensors assist the driver
when manoeuvring and parking.
How the system works
The Parking Sensors at the front and rear of
the vehicle detect the distance from an ob-
stacle → page 8.
The Parking Sensors warn about an obsta-
cle by means of colour segments on the In-
fotainment system screen and acoustic
signals → Fig. 126. The closer the vehicle
drives towards an obstacle, the closer the
segment will move towards the vehicle as
shown on the display → .
An a
utomatic braking intervention can take
place if the driver does not react when an
obstacle is approaching → page 201.
WARNING
The parking sensors are not a substitute
for the full a
ttention of the driver and op-
erate only within the limits of the respec-
tive system. The parking sensors may
possibly not detect some obstacles and
may not react or may react with a delay or
in an undesired way. If you do not pay due
attention, there is a risk of accidents and
serious injuries.
·
Always pay due attention and do not
rely exclusively on the system. The driv-
er is always responsible for all driving
tasks.
·
R
eact promptly to the visual and
acoustic warnings of the parking sen-
sors.
·
Use the foot brake to brake the vehicle
before an obstacle.
NOTICE
Visual and acoustic warnings are given only
for ob
stacles in the vehicle path. The colli-
sion area has been reached when the pe-
nultimate segment is displayed on the
Parking Sensors screen or a continuous
acoustic warning sounds, if not before.
There is a risk of damage to the vehicle.
·
Always brake the vehicle in good time
before an obstacle.
NOTICE
With some equipment levels, distances to
obstacles in the side areas are also dis-
played. An obstacle entering these areas
from the outside will not be displayed. This
may result in damage to the vehicle.
·
Drive the vehicle a few metres forwards
or backwards in order to scan and display
the side areas in full.
