is being steered straight ahea

the direction of the trailer.
6. Manoeuvre the vehicle until the re-
quired position is reached.
The manoeuvring operation has been com-
pleted when a corresponding message is
displayed on the instrument cluster. An
acoustic signal may also sound.
Automatic braking intervention
An automatic braking intervention may oc-
cur and the function may be cancelled in
the following situations:
— Speed of approximately 6–8 km/h (3–
5 mph) is exceeded.
— Steering interventions by driver.
— Diver door is open.
The driver is responsible for braking in time

WARNING
The steering wheel is turned quickly dur-
ing manoeuvring. R
eaching into the steer-
ing wheel can cause serious injuries.
·
Take over steering only when the sys-
tem requests you to do so.
·
Take over steering in a hazardous situa-
tion.

Trailer Backup Assist has system-rela-
ted limits. In some situations the auto-
matic brake intervention can only work
in a limited way or not at all.
The exterior mirrors cannot be adjus-
ted while Pro Trailer Backup Assist is
active.
The vehicle cannot be driven at
speeds above around 6 km/h (around
4 mph) while Pro Trailer Backup Assist is
a
ctive.
Cross T
rac Alert
Cross T
rac Alert monitors crossing
trac when reversing out of a parking
space or manoeuvring.
Fig. 139 Illustra
tion of Cross Trac Alert:
monitored area around the vehicle leaving the
parking space.
Radar sensors behind the rear bumper cov-
er monitor the rear and side areas of the
vehicle.
The driver is warned about the obstacle in
the case of approaching moving objects
→ Fig. 139, →
. A warning signal sounds
and, depending on the vehicle equipment,
the obstacle area is displayed in colour on
the Infotainment system or a warning lamp
lights up together with a text message on
the instrument cluster.
Obstacle detected.
An automatic braking intervention can take
place if the driver does not react
→ page 201.
If the Parking Sensors are deactivated,
no feedback can be given to the driver.
Cross Trac Alert is also temporarily deac-
tivated.
