Introduction
Electrical equipment can be connected to
the sockets in the vehicle.
The electrical devices must be in good con-
dition. Do not use faulty devices.
DANGER
Contact with the high voltage in the elec-
tric
al system, e.g. sockets, can cause
electric shocks, serious burns and death.
·
Do not spill any liquids over the socket.
·
Do not plug any adapters or extension
cables into the 230-volt socket with
earthing contact. Otherwise the built-in
child lock will disengage and power will
be supplied to the socket.
·
Never insert any items made of con-
ducting materials, e.g. screwdrivers, in-
to the contacts of the 230-volt socket
with earthing contact.
WARNING
Improper use of the sockets and connec-
ted elec
trical accessories can cause fires
and serious or fatal injuries.
·
Switch o electrical devices immedi-
ately and disconnect them from the
power supply if the electrical devices
become too warm.
·
Please note that sockets and devices
connected to them can also be used
when the ignition is switched o, e.g. by
children in the vehicle.
NOTICE
Using the wrong electrical devices or elec-
trical devices that are not approved or not
connected correctly can cause damage to
the vehicle and electronics.
·
Never connect electrical devices that
supply electric power, such as solar pan-
els or a battery charger, to the 12-volt
socket for charging.
·
Use only electrical devices that have
been approved in accordance with cur-
rent guidelines concerning electromag-
netic compatibility.
·
Do not use faulty devices.
·
In order to avoid damage due to voltage
fluctuations, always switch o any elec-
trical devices before switching the igni-
tion on or o and before starting the en-
gine. When Auto StartStop automatically
switches o and restarts the engine, it is
not necessary to switch o any connec-
ted electrical devices.
·
Observe the operating instructions of the
electrical devices.
Do not leave the engine to run when
the vehicle is sta
tionary.
Using electrical consumers with the
engine switched o and the ignition
switched on will drain the 12-volt battery.
Unshielded devices can cause inter-
ference in the Infotainment system
and vehicle electronics.
