Note that the maximum speed limit
cannot be cancelled by the kickdown
function.
Radiator fan run-on
This display appears aer the engine has
been switched o if the radiator fan is in af-
ter-run mode.
A run-on time of the radiator fan may be
due to the following:
Exhaust gas treatment, e.g. during partic-
ulate filter regeneration.
Active brake cooling aer driving down-
hill.
Dissipation of engine heat aer a high
load, e.g. when towing.
Engine code
1. Open the Service menu page 32.
2. Select the Engine code menu option.
Selector lever position for automatic
transmission
The selected position and, depending on
driving profile, the selected gear are dis-
played both on the selector lever and in the
digital instrument cluster. The gear shi
pattern is displayed in the instrument clus-
ter when the brake is pressed or the selec-
tor lever operated page 151.
Possible secondary displays in the digi-
tal instrument cluster
Depending on equipment, a configuration
menu can be used to configure and display
additional views in the secondary display of
the digital instrument cluster page 27:
Operating temperatures.
Driving data displays, e.g. Driving time/
Distance covered.
Telephone information.
Operating temperatures
The following operating temperatures may
be displayed, depending on the vehicle
equipment:
Engine oil.
Coolant.
Gearbox.

If the Telephone secondary display is acti-
vated and a mobile telephone is connected
via Bluetooth®, for example, the Bluetooth
symbol is shown in the digital instrument
cluster display
. In addition, the symbol
shows the charge level of the mobile phone
b
attery
The submenu contains a list of the most re-
cent calls and permits the displayed con-
tacts to be called back.
Some displays on the digital instru-
ment cluster may be overridden by
sudden events such as incoming telephone
calls.
Depending on the vehicle equipment
level, some settings and displays may
also appear in the Infotainment system.
Rev counter
T
he start of the red zone on the dial indi-
cates the maximum engine speed that may
be used in each gear when the engine is
warm and aer it has been run in properly.
You should change up a position, set the
driving mode selector to D/S position or li
your foot o the accelerator before the
needle reaches the red zone.
NOTICE
The needle on the rev counter should only
briefly point into the red area, a
s engine
damage may otherwise be incurred. Heavy
loads on the engine, particularly when the
engine is cold, can cause engine damage.

When the engine is cold, avoid high en-
gine speeds, strong acceleration and high
loads on the engine.
Changing up a gear early will help to
save fuel and reduce engine noise.
