vanced T
rac Sign Display system also dis-
plays sub-plates, e.g. to indicate restric-
tions that apply only at certain times. In
some cases, the system can also display
the current speed limits on non-signposted
routes.
If the maximum permitted speed is excee-
ded, the speed warning function of the Ad-
vanced Trac Sign Display system shows
this visually on the instrument cluster dis-
play by a flashing speed limit detected by
the system and, depending on setting, also
issues an acoustic warning page 42.

displays of Trac Sign Recognition with de-
tected sub-plate (illustration).
Aer validation and evaluation of the infor-
mation from the camera, the Infotainment
system and the current vehicle data, the
Trac Sign Recognition system shows up
to two valid trac signs and one detected
sub-plate, e.g. when wet Fig. 18:
The trac sign that currently
applies is shown on the le-hand
side of the display, e.g. a speed limit
of 130 km/h (80 mph).
A further trac sign can be
displayed in the second position, e.g.
a danger sign.
A detected sub-plate,
e.g. with time restrictions, is displayed
under the valid trac sign.
The display of danger signs is not available
in all countries and the system may not be
able to recognise all danger signs.
In addition to speed limits and overtaking
restrictions, Trac Sign Recognition also
detects the sign which indicates that all re-
strictions have been lied on motorways
and main roads in Germany. In all other
countries in which the system is operated,
the current speed limit is displayed instead.

Additional signs:
The tra
c signs detected by the Trac
Sign Recognition system are displayed on
the instrument cluster display. Trac signs
may also be displayed in the Infotainment
system, depending on the system installed
in the vehicle.
WARNING
The Advanced T
rac Sign Display system
is not a substitute for the full attention of
the driver and operates only within the
limits of the system. The Advanced Trac
Sign Display system therefore cannot rec-
ognise all trac signs and may not react
or may react with a delay or in an unde-
sired way. Driving recommendations and
trac signs displayed by Trac Sign Rec-
ognition may dier from the current trac
situation.
·
Observe the system limits page 40.
·
Keep the navigation data up-to-date.
·
Always pay due attention and do not
rely exclusively on the system. The driv-
er is always responsible for all driving
tasks.
·
Trac signs and trac regulations have
priority over the recommendations and
displays provided by the Trac Sign
Recognition system.
·
Always adapt your speed and driving
style to the current visibility, weather
and road or trac conditions.
·
Follow the information in the instru-
ment cluster display, and respond ac-
cording to the prompts page 42.

The Advance Trac Sign Display system
has system-related limitations. The follow-
ing conditions can limit the function of the
Advanced Trac Sign Display system, or
prevent it from working altogether:
High ambient temperatures or prolonged
exposure to direct sunlight.
Poor visibility, e.g. in snowy conditions.
