it. The following conditions must be met si-
multaneously for this:
T
he function is activated in the Infotain-
ment system.
The last key belonging to the vehicle
leaves the locking range.
If automatic locking is successful, all
turn signals flash once.
If there is another vehicle key in the vehicle,
a
utomatic locking does not take place.
Deactivate automatic locking once:
1. Press the
button for longer than
2 sec
onds with the door open.
Automatic locking is not available until
the next time the vehicle is deliberately
locked.
The vehicle will only be locked if all
doors and the boot lid are closed. De-
pending on the vehicle settings, a dou-
ble acoustic warning may sound to
warn the driver about open doors or
windows.
When locking by leaving the vehicle, the ve-
hicle is locked without SAFELOCK. This is
indicated by a single acoustic feedback sig-
nal. The vehicle is locked with SAFELOCK
only by deliberate locking on the door han-
dle or using the vehicle key.
If the key is in the detection range around
the vehicle for an extended period, locking
when leaving or unlocking when approach-
ing may be restricted.
Certain devices may prevent locking.
The vehicle then remains unlocked
without an acoustic warning. Always check
the locking status of the vehicle.
If the vehicle has been parked for an
extended period and has not been
used, the vehicle can only be unlocked via
the sensor on the inside of the driver door
handle or the vehicle key.
Unlocking and opening the sliding door
The vehicle is unlocked if you press the but-
ton in the sliding door handle once when
the vehicle is locked.
Pressing the button a second time opens
the sliding door.
Unlocking the boot lid
Unlocking takes place automatically if the
vehicle is locked and a vehicle key is loca-
ted in the operating range of the boot lid
and the automatic unlock function is set.
If the Passive Entry function is set, the boot
lid unlocks only aer it has been opened
using the handle on the boot lid

3. To check deactivation, wait for at least
10 seconds and pull the door handle
again.

door.
When the vehicle is next unlocked, it can be
unlocked only using the vehicle key. Keyless
Entry is reactivated the next time the vehi-
cle is unlocked.
Permanently deactivating Keyless En-
try
You can deactivate Keyless Entry perma-
nently in the Infotainment system to pre-
vent the vehicle from being unlocked and
started by unauthorised third parties.
When Keyless Entry is deactivated,
depending on equipment, the sensor-
controlled opening and closing of the boot
lid is also deactivated even if the function is
active in the vehicle menu.
