BRAKE FLUID CHECK
WARNING
Do not allow brake uid to touch
your skin or eyes. If this happens,
rinse the affected areas immediately with
plenty of water and contact your doctor.
Brake uid will damage paintwork.
If splashed or spilt on a painted
surface, wash it off immediately with
water.
Low brake uid levels are
dangerous. Low levels could
signal brake lining wear or a brake
system leak. Your brakes could fail and
cause an accident. If you nd a low uid
level, have the brakes inspected.
Absolute hygiene must be observed
when topping up with brake uid. Any
dirt entering the brake system may
cause loss of brake performance. Do no
expose brake uid to the atmosphere
any longer than is necessary.
Clean the reservoir cap before removal
to prevent dirt or water from entering the
reservoir.
Maintenance
WARNINGS
Only add coolant when the
engine is cold. If the engine is hot,
wait 10 minutes for the engine to cool
down.
DO NOT USE Ford Extended Life
Engine Coolant (orange in colour).
Do not allow coolant to touch your
skin or eyes. If this happens, rinse
the affected areas immediately with
plenty of water and contact your doctor.
CAUTION
Do not spill coolant on any part of
the engine.
Only add coolant that meets the
Ford specication. See Customer
assistance, warranty and service
guide (page 27).
Modern engines run at very high
temperatures. Inferior quality coolants
cannot maintain adequate corrosion
protection inside the cooling system.
For this reason, only use coolant which
meets the Ford specication for your
vehicle.
Coolant disposal
Always dispose of used automotive uids
in a responsible manner. Follow your
community’s regulations and standards
for recycling and disposing of automotive
uids.
