Cruise Control
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
Cruise control allows the driver to control
the speed of the vehicle using the cruise
stalk attached to the steering wheel.
Cruise control can only be used when
the vehicle speed exceeds 48 km/h.
USING CRUISE CONTROL
WARNING
Cruise control should never be
used in the following conditions:
On twisty or hill roads.•
On slippery roads, in rain, snow or •
on ice and gravel
In heavy trafc or trafc that varies •
considerably in speed.
When it is not possible to keep the •
vehicle at a set speed.
In very windy conditions.•
Switching cruise control on
WARNING
Do not shift the gearshift lever into
the N (Neutral) with the cruise
control on.
Press the CRUISE switch.
The cruise indicator lamp will illuminate
red for 2 seconds whilst performing a
self-check.
The cruise indicator lamp will then turn
amber to indicate that the cruise in ON
and the system is ready for you to set a
speed.
Setting a speed
Push the cruise lever down and hold
for approximately 1 second to SET the
speed you want.
The cruise indicator lamp will go green
indicating the cruise speed is set, and
you may slowly release the accelerator.
Changing the set speed
WARNING
When you are going downhill,
your speed may increase above
the set speed. The system will not apply
the brakes.
Note: if you accelerate by pressing the
accelerator pedal, the set speed will
not change. If you accelerate 8 km/h
past the set speed the cruise indicator
lamp will turn amber, and will return to
green once the vehicle speed is within
8 km/h of the set speed. If you release
the accelerator pedal the vehicle will
return to the previously programmed set
speed.
