Lock/Unlock Config
If required, some of the critical configuration parameters can be locked using a 4 to 8-digit
password to prevent accidental changes. Configuration data displays while the menu is locked,
however the menu must be unlocked using the password in order to change advanced
parameters. These include Network settings, SIP setting and Flexible key assignments.
To lock portions of the configuration:
• Press the button, select 7. Lock/Unlock Config then press the OK button.
• Enter a password and press the OK button.
• Confirm the password and press the OK button.
• Once assigned, select 7. Lock/Unlock Config to lock the configuration.
• To unlock the configuration, press the button, select 7. Lock/Unlock Config then press
the OK button.
• Enter the password, then press the OK button.
Information
The phone provides the means to quickly view the network parameters (IP address, default
gateway address, and subnet-mask), server IP addresses (SIP servers, TFTP server, and SNTP
server), results of the last file download attempt, boot version, hardware and firmware version.
• Press the button, select 8. Information then press the OK button.
• Use the Up/Down navigation buttons to scroll through the parameters.
• Press the button to exit the menu.
Reboot
After changing certain parameters, the phone will require a reboot to utilize the settings. These
settings include the following:
• Network Configuration settings
• TFTP Server Address settings
• Software Update settings
• Default settings
• After a FortiVoice phone system firmware update, new features might be enabled so a
reboot is a good idea to ensure consistent behavior.
To reboot the phone:
• Press the button, select 9. Reboot then press the OK button.
• Press the OK button to reboot the phone.
• If you press the Left navigation button in the above step, move to another parameter with the
navigation buttons and continue with another session or press the button to exit the
configuration session without activating the changes. Any parameter changes will only
update after the next reboot.
