handheld transmitter will control your garden railway electric locomotives perfectly

from the palm of your hand. An Omni Rx-2 receiver with be needed to work with the

OMNI Tx-2.1 transmitter.

2.4GHz gives perfect glitch free control for up to 200 metres range.

The Regulator Knob controls speed and the Reverser switch controls direction. The

three buttons on the top provide functions for sound cards or can be used to switch

on lights etc. Cruise control is possible by turning off the transmitter while the train is

running. Turn back on to instantly regain control.

The OMNI TX-2.2ESC is a programmable 2.4GHz handheld transmitter designed for controlling garden railway electric locomotives. Its compact size allows for single-handed operation, making it a convenient alternative to larger transmitters. This device requires an OMNI Rx-2 or Rx22 receiver to function.

Function Description

The primary function of the OMNI TX-2.2ESC is to provide precise control over electric locomotives. It features a Regulator Knob for speed control and a Reverser switch for direction. Three black push buttons on the top surface offer additional functionalities, such as activating sound cards or switching lights on/off. The transmitter supports a "cruise control" feature, allowing the user to turn off the transmitter while the train is running and instantly regain control upon turning it back on.

Usage Features

Controls and Indicators

Regulator Knob: Controls the locomotive's speed. Turning it fully anticlockwise sets the locomotive to stop, while turning it fully clockwise provides full power. The further it's turned, the faster the locomotive goes. It offers smooth control to the exact position shown on the dial. This knob is also used during reprogramming of the top buttons.
Reverser Switch: Selects forward, OFF, or reverse direction for the locomotive.
Black Push Buttons (1, 2, and 3): These buttons operate negative ground functions on an OMNI Rx2 receiver. They are also used for reprogramming a receiver. By default, these buttons are momentary, but they can be reprogrammed to be latching.
Inertia Knob: This knob controls super delayed accelerations and decelerations. Turning it to "Zero" switches off this feature.
ON/OFF Slide Switch: Located on the side, sliding it down turns the transmitter ON.
LEDs (1 & 2): These indicators display battery status, radio status, and provide feedback during bind and calibration procedures.

Binding Procedure

Turn on the receiver (or the model with the receiver fitted).
With the transmitter OFF, press and hold black buttons 1 and 3.
Turn the transmitter ON.
Successful binding is indicated by LED 2 going solid ON.
Release the two buttons. LED 1 will go solid to indicate that the transmitter and receiver are linked.

Programming Buttons (Momentary to Latching)

This procedure must be started within 20 seconds of turning on the receiver:

Switch on the model so the receiver is ON.
With the transmitter OFF, press and hold buttons 1 and 2.
Turn the transmitter ON.
Both LEDs will flash, then go solid, indicating successful entry to the Button Calibration mode. Release the two buttons. LED 2 will now flash.
To change a button's function:
- Put the regulator knob to the full power position.
- Set the reversing switch to the desired direction:
  - Full power Reverse = Momentary
  - Full power Forward = Latched
- Press the required button to save the setting for that function.
To exit calibration, turn the transmitter OFF.

General Usage Notes

The OMNI R/C system allows for reprogramming the receiver in the loco, rather than the transmitter itself. This means one OMNI transmitter can control multiple locos, each with its own unique requirements and settings.
The regulator knob's center stop position can also be changed.

Maintenance Features

Battery Replacement

The device uses 2 x AAA batteries, accessible via a battery box lid.
Low Battery Warning: When the batteries are too low for reliable operation, both LED 1 and LED 2 will start flashing together. Replace them with quality alkaline AAA cells for optimal performance.

Cleaning

No specific cleaning instructions are provided in the manual, but general electronic device cleaning practices (e.g., using a dry, soft cloth) are recommended.
