Turning the Camera on and off
Shooting Mode
Press the n button to turn the camera on.
The lens will extend and the lens cover will open.
Press n again to turn the camera off.
B Tip: Switching to Playback Mode
• Press the D button for about a second to start
playback. Press the shutter button halfway to return
to shooting mode.
C Caution
• Forcibly preventing the lens or flash from moving
could damage the camera.
• Pictures can be affected by fingerprints and other
marks on the lens. Keep the lens clean.
• The n button does not completely disconnect
the camera from its power supply.
Playback Mode
To turn the camera on and begin playback, press
the D button for about a second.
Press the n button to turn the camera off.
B Tip: Switching to Shooting Mode
• To exit to shooting mode, press the shutter button
halfway. Press the D button to return to playback.
B Tip: Auto Power Off
• The camera will turn off automatically if no operations are performed for the length of time selected in the
o AUTO POWER OFF menu (pg. 103). To turn the camera on, use the n button or press the D button
for about a second.
