Protectpictures from accidental deletion.
1 Select [] PROTECT in the playback menu.
2 Highlight one of the following options and
press MENU/OK:
• FRAME:Protect selected pictures. Press the
selector left or right to view pictures and
press MENU/OKto select or deselect. Press
DISP/BACKwhen the operation is complete.
• SETAI`/:Protect all pictures.
• RESETA/l.: Remove protection from all pic-
tures.
Protected pictures will be deleted when the memory
card or internal memory is formatted (_ 100).

Create a cropped copy of the current picture.
1Display the desired picture.
2 Select [] CROP in the playback menu.
3 Use the _ and Q buttons to zoom the image
in and out and use the selector to scroll the
picture until the desired portion isdisplayed.
4Press MENU/OKto display a confirmation dialog.
5 Press MENU/OKagain to save the cropped copy
to a separate file.
Larger crops produce larger copies; all copies have an
aspect ratio of 4: 3. If the sizeof tile final copy will be
I_]_,OK will be displayed in yellow.
Intelligent FaceDetection
If the picture was shot with Intelligent Face Detection
(_ 54), _ will be displayed in the monitor. Pressthe _
button to zoom in on the selected face.
