Inserting a Memory Card
Although the camera can store pictures in inter-
nal memory, optional SD, SDHC and SDXC mem-
ory cards (sold separately) can be used to store
additional pictures.
1 Open the memory card slot cover.
• Besurecard isin the correct orientation; do not
insert at an angle or use force. If the memory
card is not correctly inserted or no memory
card isinserted, _ will appear in the LCDmoni-
tor and internal memory will be used for record-
ing and playback.

2 Insert the memory card.
Holding the memory card in the orientation
shown below, slide it in until it clicks into
place at the back of the slot.
• SD/SDHC/SDXC memory
cards carl be locked, mak-
ing it impossible to format
the card or to record or Wri_e-pro_ec_
delete images. Before in- switch
serting an SD/SDHC/SDXC
memory card, slide the
write-protect switch to the
unlocked position.
