Installing/removing a SmartCard reader
Ê Open the casing (see "Opening the casing").
Installing a SmartCard reader
Ê Remove the protector panel at the front of the carrier.
Ê Push the SmartCard reader board into the guide rail of the carrier with the component's side
toward the panel.
Ê Fix the board with the screw.

Ê Attach the cable to the SmartCard reader (1) and to the connector for the SmartCard reader on
the system board (see the Technical Manual for the system board).
Ê Lift the SmartCard reader into the system unit (2).
Ê Push the SmartCard reader in the direction of the arrow (3) until it clicks into position. Press
down and towards the drive cage while doing so.

With the SmartCard reader connected, no devices may be connected to serial port 2.
