Chapter 9
Fax Server
The fax server the scanner supports is "RightFax".
The fax function of this scanner sends the scanned data as an attached file to the send mail server
(SMTP) based on the information set with the "Fax Server" screen of administrative function.
When RightFax accesses the receive mail server (POP3) on a regular basis and detects the sent
mail, the data is analyzed and sent by fax. Thus, SMTP server and POP3 service must be set before
using RightFax with this scanner.
For SMTP server and POP3 service settings, refer to "Chapter 3 Mail Server" (page 35).
This chapter describes the fax server settings using Windows Server
®
2003 as an example.
