Installation under MS Windows
System requirements
Before you start installation, you should ensure that your system and connec-
tions meet the following minimum requirements.
● Pentium III 400 MHz.
● 128 MB RAM.
● 150 MB (minimum) free disk space in the installation directory.
● MS Windows 2000/MS Windows NT4.
● MS Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher
or Netscape version 4.79 or higher.
● In Internet Explorer set the following options:
Select Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom level
and select all the five ActiveX options by selecting the corresponding check
boxes.
● Java Plugin version 1.4.1-2 (in this case select Control Panel >Java Plugin
> Cache and deactivate Cache).
● The server can be connected to a LAN with an existing domain network. The
server need not necessarily be a member of the domain.
● It is not necessary to have the Server connected to a LAN.
● All the Spheras agents must be stopped.
Any previous installations must be uninstalled.

Installation
You can download the current version of Spheras Storage Manager software
from the internet address: “www.fibrecat.com” or ftp://raid@ftp.fujitsu-
siemens.com (password: 4jumbo17).
Install the Spheras program package under MS Windows.
