Password protection for booting of the operating system
With the supervisor password you have s et in the BIOS Se tup U tility (see
section "
Setting supervisor and use r password", Pa ge 50), yo u can also
prevent booting of the operating system.

Activating system protection
► Start the BIOS Setu p Utility and go to the Se curity menu.
Operatings ystem
► Select the PasswordonBootoption and press the Enter key.
► Select the desired option (Disabled, First Boot or Every B oot) and press the Enter k ey
► Select the Save Changes & Exit option under Exit.
The notebook will reboot. You will be prom pted to enter your password (the supervisor password).
Deactivating system protection
► Start the BIOS Setu p Utility and go to the Se curity menu.

► Select the PasswordonBootoption and press the Enter key.
► Select the Disabled option and press the Enter key.
If you d o not want to change any other settings, you can exit BIOS S e tu p Utility.
► Select the Save Changes & Exit option under Exit.
The notebook will reboot. The system is no longer password-protected.
