Trusted Platform Module - TPM (device dependent)

To use the TPM, you must enable the TPM in the BIOS-Setup before the software is
installed. The requirement for this is that you have assigned at least the supervisor
password (see "
Secu rity functions", Page 70).
Enabling TPM
Requirement: You have assigned a supervisor password (see "Security functions", Page 70).
Call BIOS Setup and sele
ct the Security menu.
Mark the TPM Security Chip S ettin g eld a nd press the Enter key.
Select the entry Enabl
ed to enable the T PM
Once you have ena bled the TPM the Clear Security Chip m enu item appears.
You ca n clear the hold
er in the TPM using Clear S ecurity Chip.WithEnabled,
all secret keys (e.g
. SRK - Storage Root Keys, AIK - A ttestation Identity Keys
etc.) generated by
applications are deleted.

encrypted on the h
older-based keys!
Select the Exit Sa
ving Changes option in the Exit menu.
Press the Enter key and select Yes.

tarts and the TPM is switched on af ter the reboot.
Disabling TPM
Requirement: You have assigned a supervisor password (see "Security functions", Page 70).
Call BIOS Setup and select the Security menu.
Mark the TPM Security Chip S ettin g eld a nd press the Enter key.
Select the entry Disabled to disable the TPM.
Fr om the Exit menu, choose the option Exit Saving Changes.
Press the Enter key and select Yes.
The notebook will no w reboot with TPM deactiva ted.
