Setting up the port replicator
Select a suitable l ocation for the port replicator before setting it up.
Follow the instructions below when doing so:
• Never place the port replicator on a soft s urface (e.g. carpeting, upholstered furniture, bed).
This can block the air vents of the notebook and cause overheat ing and damage.
• Place the port rep licator on a sta ble, flat and non-slip surface. Please note tha t the
port replicator’s rubber feet may mark certain types of surface.
• Never place the port replicator and the AC adapter o n a heat-sensitive surface.
• Do not expose the port replicator to extreme environmental conditions.
Protect the port replicator from dust, hu midity and heat.
Connect the notebook to the port replicator
The port r eplicator supports various LIFEBOOK models. The adjusting lever of the port
replicator can be used to adapt the port replicator to the size of the particular LIFEBOO K.
Before connecting the noteboo k to the port replicator, check if the setting
lever of the port replicator is in the right position. If necessary, adjust
the setting leve r to the correct position.
► Disconnect the AC adapter cable from the DC socket (DC IN) of the notebook.
