17.9 How to Read a File from Planning or Navigation
Station
If there are two ECDIS workstations connected via a LAN, it is possible to read files from planning station to
navigation station and vice versa.
1. Select desired menu.
2. Select Backup and Restore command from menu.
3. Select backup drive from the Backup device field.
4. From the Backup Device field, select desired file.
5. Click the Restore button in the Backup Device field.
17.10 How to Load User Chart and Route Files of
Former Vector System Format
Route and user chart files can be read in vector system format (Inc) files. When loading Inc format files, the ECDIS
converts the files to the format used with the ECDIS. To do this, do the following:
1. Select desired menu.
2. Select Backup and Restore from the menu.
3. Select backup drive from the Backup device field.
4. From the Backup Device field, select desired file.
5. Click the Restore button in the Backup Device field.
17.11 How to Save User Chart and Route Files in
Former Vector System Format
The Route and User chart files can be read in vector system format (Inc). When moving files from the ECDIS to a
backup device the ECDIS converts the file to Inc format.
To do this:
1. Select desired menu.
2. Select Backup and Restore from the menu.
3. From the Hard Disk field, select desired file then select Backup file format as Inc.
4. Select backup drive from the Backup device field.
5. Click the Backup button in the Hard Disk field.
