5.2 Communication test
5.2.1 MF/HF transceiver
1) Connection between radiotelephone and DSC-60/DP-6
To check the connection between radiotelephone and DSC-60/DP-6;
1. Select the frequency other than 2182 kHz on the SSB and set output power to
LOW.
2. Create a message as below.
Call type: Group call
Group ID: 011111111
Priority: Routine
Comm. type: FEC
Comm. Frequency: 4202.5 kHz
DSC frequency: TX/RX 2177 kHz
3. Press CALL button on the DSC-60. “Call in Progress” appears.
4. On the display of the radiotelephone, check that;
1) The mode is TLX (F1B) and the TX/RX frequency is 2177 kHz.
2) The radiotelephone starts tuning and TUNE OK appears.
3) The radiotelephone emits a signal or antenna current flows.
5. On the display of the DSC-60, check that the DSC standby display appears after
transmission.
6. On the display of the radiotelephone, check that TX/RX frequency is 4202.5
kHz after transmission.
7. On the display of the DP-6, check that;
1) Date and time appears on the Station Name line.
2) Station name consisting of date and time appears on the top line of the
Station List (Call Station/[F3] [1]). ID code is blank and the mode is
FEC-C.
3) Press [Enter] key. “Busy check ----“ appears.
4) Listen to make certain that the channel is not already in use and press
[Enter] key.
8. On the display of the radiotelephone, check that;
1) Tuning is made on 4202.5 kHz and TUNE OK appears.
2) Antenna current meter deflects
3) Pressing [Break] key stops transmitting.
