6.2 Q & A
1. Charger BC-6158 does not work.
1) Is battery charged even with the switch set to [Manual].
Does the AC input relay, K1 in BC-6158 operate?
NO - If CR1 (Charge) on 05P0607 board lights, the charging control circuit
functions.
- Check wiring between BC-6158 and 05P0607 board.
- Check that AC power supply relay on BC-6158 is normal.
- If CR1 on 05P0607 board does not light, 05P0607 board may be fefective.
YES - Rectifier or AVR circuit on BC6158 may be defective.
2) “Auto” function does not work even though the battery switch is set to [Auto.]
Is battery charged with the battery switch set to “Manual?”
NO - See item 1).
YES - Defective 05P0607 board or adjustment of 05P0607 required
Note) With the “Auto” function, the battery charger starts when the battery voltage
drops to 24.5– 25.0 V and stops working when the voltage reaches to 27.5 V. Refer to
page 4-13 for adjustment.
2. No power to FS-5000/Breaker trips when transmitting
Check breakers of PR-850A(AR) and FS-5000T do not trip.
If power is interrupted when transmitting,
- Check that transmission power does not exceed the rating.
Collector current is approximately 18A and collector voltage is less than 40V
when the HF band signal is transmitted in 400 W
If input voltage or “Vs” value drops from 24V to less than 21V during
transmission, change the power cable between PR-850A (AR) and FS-5000T
with bigger one.
For example, change cable of 8 sq. to 14 sq.
- Check that power supply voltage to PR-850A(AR) does not drop more than 10%
during transmission.
If the voltage drops, replace the power cable with a bigger one or change supply
voltage. For example, if power supply is 100Vac, change it to 200Vac. Of course,
PR-300, PR-850A(AR), and BC-6158 must be modified according to supply
voltage.
