This equipment is supplied with a power cord with a US style 3-wire grounding type plug.
Do not attempt to service this unit yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
G-RAID3 is set up for use with Mac OS X systems and mounts automatically on the desktop.
G-RAID3 must be formatted for the Windows Operating System before use on a PC.
G-RAID3 can be used on MAC and PC systems by formatting the drive FAT32, with some limitations.
Connect the power supply to G-RAID3 and plug the AC cable into a surge protector or wall outlet.
Connect G-RAID3 to your system via eSATA, FireWire 400/800, or USB port for best performance.
Press the power button on the back of the unit to power on G-RAID3.
Use Apple Disk Utility to select G-RAID3 and prepare it for Mac OS X.
Select the Partition tab to set volume scheme, name, and format for partitioning.
Open Disk Management utility, right-click My Computer, select 'Manage' to initialize G-RAID3.
In Computer Management, right-click on Disk 1 and select 'Initialize Disk' from the pull-down menu.
Right-click on the Disk 1 'Unallocated' bar entry and select New Partition... from the pull-down menu.
Choose a partition size that is between the maximum and minimum sizes. This will create one large volume using all available space.
Windows will automatically assign a drive letter. Accept this assignment and click on the <Next> button.
Format this partition with NTFS file system. Enter Volume Label, check Perform a quick format.
You have successfully completed the New Partition Wizard. Click Finish.
Use Apple Disk utility to format G-RAID3 FAT32 for use on both Windows and Macintosh systems.
Before powering down, unmount G-RAID3 from the system by dragging the icon to the trash or pressing apple+E.
Before powering down, left-click on the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon shown below.
Select MS-DOS File System from the drop down menu and Enter 'G-RAID3' in the Name field. Click 'Erase'.
