Usage Features:

  • Site Preparation: The manual emphasizes the importance of leveling the ground surface before assembly. It recommends constructing a wooden or concrete base as a foundation.
  • Foundation Securing: The shed must be affixed to the foundation by drilling holes in the shed floor and screwing it into the foundation using appropriate screws (not included).
  • Painting: The sheds are made of a unique compound that allows the brushed wall panels to be painted. For exterior use, a water-based acrylic paint is recommended, preferably solid, light shades with a satin or semi-gloss finish. Windows, doors, roof, and floor should not be painted.
  • Door Assembly: Detailed instructions are provided for assembling the door, including hinge and lock installation. The door is designed to be installed with the inner side facing inwards.
  • Wind Resistance: The manual advises reducing exposure to wind, especially on the door side, and keeping doors closed and locked when the shed is not in use to prevent wind damage.

Maintenance Features:

  • Maintenance-Free: The shed is designed to be maintenance-free, requiring no painting or varnishing if used in its original color. However, if painted, repainting may be required over time.
  • Regular Checks: Periodically check the shed to ensure it remains stable and that the site is level.
  • Cleaning: Wash the shed with a garden hose or a mild detergent solution. Avoid using stiff brushes, abrasive cleaners, degreasers, or oil/acetone-based cleaning materials, as these can stain or damage the shed.
  • Roof Maintenance: Keep the roof clear of accumulated snow and leaves. Large amounts of snow can damage the shed structure.
  • Storage Guidelines: Do not store hot items (e.g., recently used grills, blowtorches) or volatile chemicals inside the shed. Avoid placing heavy items against the walls to prevent distortion.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always wear work gloves, safety goggles, and long sleeves during assembly or maintenance.
    • Use only the tools listed in the manual.
    • Avoid using lawnmowers or mechanical scythes near the shed.
    • Do not stand on the roof.
    • Do not attempt assembly on windy or cold days.
  • Warranty: The product comes with a two-year warranty covering manufacturing defects or material failures from the date of original retail purchase. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, including scuffing, scratches, fractures, discoloration, fading, rusting, unreasonable use, abuse, negligence, alterations, painting, moving, transporting, relocating, or "acts of Nature" (e.g., hail, storms, floods, fire). Assembly or handling not in accordance with the manual's recommendations, or usage for commercial/public applications, will void the warranty. Garofalo is not responsible for damage or loss of objects inside or near the shed. In case of a valid warranty claim, Garofalo will replace defective parts or refund a prorated portion of the purchase price, with a 10% depreciation per year.
