1.Contacttheballoonpumpmanufacturerforinterfacerequirements.Seethe

acquisitiondevice.
2.ConnectacompatibleanalogoutputcabletotheDebSyncconnector.
3.Adjusttheinvasivepressurelter.Ifarterialpressureisusedtotriggertheballoon
pump,usethe40Hzpressurelter.
4.PrimarydisplayedECGlead:IftheballoonpumptriggersofftheRwaveofthe
ECG,reviewthepatient’sECGleadsandplacetheonewiththegreatestamplitude
inthetop(primary)positiononthemonitordisplay.
5.Pacemakerdetection:Ifthepatienthasapacemaker,besurethepacemaker
detectionisturnedon.Failuretoturnpacemakerdetectiononmaycausepoor
beatdetection,whichmayresultininadequatetriggeringoftheballoonpump.
EffectsofIABPondisplayedvalues
Displayedpressurevaluesareaffectedbytheintra-aorticballoonpump.TheIABP
programdisplaysthreevalues,forexample150/45(98).Therstvalueisthesystolic
value,thesecondisthediastolicvalue,andthethirdisthemeanvalue.Thedisplayed
numericvaluesareindicatingarapidlyvaryingwaveformgeneratedduringIABP
treatmentanddonotalwaysreectatruearterialbloodpressure.
Foraccuracyandreliability,combinetheserecommendedmethodsforreading
arterialand/orfemoralbloodpressure:
