5.2 Timing parameters workflow
Use this procedure to set up the timing parameters for the scan prescription. The patient’s
condition has a significant effect on timing. Make sure that you know how long the patient can
hold her breath. This helps when working with Auto Voice.
It is important to use scan delays for contrast injections. You can only inject once and you must
get it right the first time. Different anatomy enhances at different rates. Check with your
radiologist for the right scan delays for injectors.
1.
From the
Scan Settings
window, click
Timing
.
2. If you need a scan delay before the injection starts, set a
Prep Delay
time.
The range is 0 to 300 seconds for the first group and 600 seconds for any additional
groups.
Auto Voice automatically sets Minimum Prep Delay time based on message length and
the Preset Delay time set for the
Voice, Lights, Timer
selection.
Breathing Lights / Timer sets a Minimum Prep Delay time.
3.
For an Axial scan type, set an
Inter Scan Delay
time.
4. Set the
Voice, Lights, Timer
options. See Section 7.3, Set the Voice/Lights/Timer options for
details.
10 languages are available for preset Auto Voice messages 1, 2, or 3. The user can
define additional languages.
Preset Delay Time sets a delay from the time the pre-message ends until the X-ray turns
on. This is helpful for patients who need a longer time to follow breathing instructions.
5. To start the scan, click [Confirm Settings].
5.2.1 Set Prep Delay time
Prep Delay time establishes how long the system waits before turning the X-ray on for a given
group of scans. Use this procedure to set a Prep Delay time for giving contrast with a timed
delay.
