Installingthe water line.
Read these instructions completely and carefully.
ShutOff theMain Water
Turn on tile nearest fimcet hmg enough to clear tile line ofwater.
Install the Shutoff Valve
_] Install tile shutoffvalve on the nearest
fiequenfly used drinking water line.
[_ Choose a location for tile valve fllat is easily
accessible. It isbest to connect into the side of a
vertical water pipe. When it is necessmy to
connect into a horizontal water pipe, make the
connection to the top or side, rather than at the
bottom, to avoid dra_dng offany secfiment fiom
the water pipe.
[7_ Drill a l/4 hole m tile water p(pe, using a sharp
=J bit. Remove any burrs resuhing fiom drilling file
hole in file pipe.
[_] Fasten the shutoffvalve to tile coM water pipe
wifll the pipe damp.
[_ Tighten tile clamp screws until tile sealing
washer begins to swell.
Do not overtighten or you may crush the copper
tubing•

Routethe Copper Tubing and Connect It to the Shutoff Valve
Route the copper tubing between the coM water
line and the refiigerator.
Make su(e the robing is fiflly inserted into the xalxe.
Tighten tile compression nut securely.
Route tile robing flnough a hole &filed in the wall
or floor (behind the refiigerator or ac!ja{ent base
_abinet) as dose to the wall as possible.
Be sure there is sufficient extra tubing [about 8
feet (244 cm) coiled into 3 turns of about 10"
(25 cm) diameter] to aflow the refrigerator to
move out from the waft after instaflation.
Place the compression nut and terrule (sleeve)
onto tile end of the robing and connect it to tile
shutoffvalve.

TurnOn the Water and Flush Out the Tubing
[_] Tmn the main water supply on and flush out tile
robing until the water is ( 1_1(.
[_ Shut the water ()fiat tile water valve after about
one quart (1 1) of water has been flushed
through tile robing.
